I think Drin was not strictly military, had officer rank kind of the way doctors were officer-track guys in Vietnam. But he answered to someone who was strictly military, someone who is long dead. Let me know what you think of this and if it needs tooling.
I think you’re right on. The lab expertise, taking that out in the field, would mesh well with the MASH-type doctor rank. (I suspect a lot of the ‘tude of that type would come along with.)
